We would like to inform about a major incident at Microsoft Azure that also affected some Intershop systems. While such outages are extremely rare, they can occasionally occur even with large and highly reliable cloud providers.
On the evening of November 5, 2025 (starting around 6:00 p.m. CET), the Microsoft Azure region West Europe experienced a significant infrastructure incident that impacted multiple organizations and services — including several Intershop environments.
According to Microsoft, the disruption was caused by a thermal event following a power and cooling issue in one of their data centers. This led to temporary interruptions across several Azure services, including virtual machines, database management, and storage systems.
Current status:
The underlying Microsoft issue was fully resolved during the night of November 5-6 and all affected Intershop services have since been restored.
